Parsa Mirzaagha is an Iranian-American musician, media composer, sound designer, recording engineer, and producer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s Technology and Applied Composition program. In his studies he has become accustomed to many different facets of music and technology: ranging from composition and film scoring to sound design and recording. Parsa was also employed as a recording engineer by the conservatory where he engaged with distinguished performers in order to record audio and video for various concerts, recitals, recording sessions and masterclasses that take place in their world-class concert halls. This has resulted in his involvement in over 300+ recording projects. He is also versatile in music production as he is accustomed to Logic Pro X, Ableton Live, and Pro Tools. In addition to his work at the conservatory, Parsa acts as freelance recording engineer and AV technician throughout the Bay Area.
A versatile musician, he is comfortable playing various instruments like guitar and bass in various genres such as jazz, funk, rock, metal, and many more, and as a result is receiving work as a session musician. His adaptability to different forms of music stems from his experience as a jazz musician, which has additionally led him to receiving awards and scholarships for recognition of his talents. Also, Parsa draws upon his Middle-Eastern background in his performance as he is able to play different eastern instruments; his main instruments on the other side of the globe are the setâr (سهتار), an Iranian stringed instrument, and the bağlama saz, another stringed instrument that is of Turkish origin.
